Susquehanna Summer
In the summer of 1977, I walked and canoed the 440-mile length of the Susquehanna River from its origin in Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, New York, to its terminus in the Chesapeake Bay in Havre de Grace, Maryland. My goal was to photograph the spirit and the life of the river valley. These are a sample of some of the 3,000 photos I made, arranged in chronological/geographical order from Lake Otsego down to the Chesapeake.
